We’re on a Mission to Reimagine Work for Waste Pickers in Indonesia

Did You Know?

350,000 waste pickers work in Jakarta alone

They make a large contribution to the waste collection system but are not recognised formally for their work. They suffer stigma, bias and discrimination. Waste pickers more than anyone, understand the problem of plastic pollution. We have so much to learn from their experience and expertise.

80 billion beverage bottle caps are made in Indonesia each year

There is no targeted recycling scheme for bottle caps so many end up in waterways, oceans and the environment.
